Q: Where do you hold your storytelling sessions?

A: Madras Story Works holds storytelling sessions every Saturday at Story Corner, Bookmine Library, No:1, Tarapore Avenue, Harrington Road, Chetpet, Chennai from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

We hold storytelling sessions every Sunday at Suki’s Garden, No.5, Valluvar Kottam High Road, Opp. Harrison’s Hotel, Behind Indus Ind Bank, Nungambakkam, Chennai-600034 from 4.30 PM to 5.30 PM.

Q. How old does a child have to be to attend a session?

A. Children between the ages of 3 years and 9 years can attend our sessions.

Q. What are your charges?

A. We charge Rs. 150 per session per child.

Q. How is the storytelling session conducted?

A. The story is told in a highly interactive way, with song or repetitive refrain included which encourages active participation. Each session concludes with a small art or craft or theatre activity.

Q. How do I register my child for a session?

A. Please do call us at +91-9840118590 to register. Or, come to our storytelling sessions 15 minutes before the scheduled time for on the spot registration.

QDo you have any other regular activities for children?

A. We have a “Book Reading Club” for children above 6 years which is held every Monday from 5.00 PM to 6.00 PM.

Q. Do you offer storytelling training?

A. Yes, we do storytelling training sessions for teachers, parents, and early childhood development personnel. Please contact us directly at vasugi@madrasstoryworks.in for details.

Q. What other services do you offer?

A. We conduct storytelling competitions in schools and children’s activity centres. We offer summer camps and storytelling training sessions for children too.
